The department of physics at mitk, is highly focused on imparting quality education to meet the global challenges of science and technology. The department of physics plays a vital role in laying the strongest foundation so that the students are well equipped to stand up to higher education. The department consists of highly experienced, talented and dedicated faculty members of whom many are doctorates and few are pursuing their phd from reputed universities.

The faculty members in the department have published more than 20 reserch papers in various national/ international journals and over 50 papers in different conferences. The department has the credence of attaining success rate of 90% and above in each semester consistently.


Chemistry is a bridge that connects the pure science with engineering practices. The more chemistry an engineer understands the more beneficial it is. The field of chemical engineering offers unique opportunity to make a real differences by applying the principles of chemistry to solve problems that involves the use of chemicals, fuel, drugs and food products. They will have the opportunity to design the process and equipment for large scale manufacturing, planning , testing production methods and byproduct treatment.


In the present scenario for non-native English users, English is very important because it is widely spoken all around the world. Knowing English allows people to enjoy their life and work no matter where they are. Most of the scientific papers or journals in the world are written in English. For an engineer and an engineering student, English language fluency is important both in studies and career.To be successful in this field one need to know and understand and to communicate effectively in English. In placement it is very necessary, students can excel in interviews if they have a command over the language. To understand the subject better, for reference material, to work abroad to co-ordinate various skills, to extract work in almost all fields it is very much necessary.

Physical Education

Our college sports department comprises of well settled with Athletic Track, Badminton court, Volley Ball court , Foot ball ground, kho-kho court, Throw ball court, Kabaddi Court, Table Tennis, chess, carom ect. Our college encourages outstanding sports activity for both boys & girls. The students of our college have participated and won many prizes at VTU Inter-collegiate tournament as well as local tournament. The greater support has been given to the Intercollegiate matches such as badminton , throw ball, Volley ball, Kabaddi, football, Athletics.

Sports department organized:-

  • Udupi & Mangluru Inter district degree college level volley ball tournament on January 1st 2016.
  • VTU Mangluru zone volley ball tournament on March 1st 2016.

Teachers Day and CV Raman Club Inauguration

The celebration of TEACHERS DAY and THE INNAUGURATION OF C V RAMAN CLUB were held in our college, Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapura on 08 september 2017. On this occasion a talk on AMAZING NATURE LESSON TO LEARN was rendered by the Chief Guest Dr. HARISH R BHAT, Research Scientist, I.I.Sc Bangalore. Also he gave a call to ‘see around our nature and find the beautiful concepts and implement them to improve our technologies’ to the studying engineering youths.

The programme was Inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Chief guest and was concluded by singing the national anthem. Ms. Joycelita welcomed the gathering, Mr Amogha, Asst. Professor in Physics Introduced the Chief Guest, Ms.Shwetha Naik gave the vote of thanks and Ms. Varsha Miragi took over the Master of Ceremony.


The celebration of SADBHAVANA DIWAS was held in our college, Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapura on 20th August 2017. On this occasion the Chief Guest Dr. Rajendra S Nayak, gave a call to ‘Unite and build a beautiful Nation’ to the youths . The Physical Education Director Mr. Ramesh M took over the Oath taking ceremony and The Head of the Institute, The Principal gave the presidential remark for the youths gathered.

The programme was Inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Chief guest and was concluded by singing the national anthem. Ms. Rajatha Acharya welcomed the gathering, Ms. Fathima Razeena Introduced the Chief Guest, Mr.Rahul G Mesta gave the vote of thanks and Mr. Vighnesh Shetty took over the Master of Ceremony.


The 70th INDEPENDENCE DAY was celebrated in our college, Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapura on 15th August 2017. The Principal Dr. Kataiah Hoisted the National Flag and gave a speech on the people who sacrificed for our country for the Independence. The programme was concluded by singing the national anthem.
