The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a technical talk on “Effective utilization of solar energy, Fuel of future” at MITK Campus on 20th November 2019.Dr. Arunachala U.Chandavar, Senior Associate Professor, MIT MANIPAL, , was invited as the resource person to deliver the talk for students and faculty. He explained about different methods of utilizing solar power and also techniques to improve efficiency of the solar energy systems. Resource person clarified students doubts during interactive session.
Mechanical Engineering at the MIT - Kundapura has a long and compelling history. The foundations of the department were laid by outstanding scientists and professors. The mechanical engineer can expect to carry out a wide range of tasks from development to recycling. In the course of their studies they’ll acquire knowledge and skills to help them develop ideas, analyze problems and propose solutions.
Engineers are playing a fundamental role here. They are trendsetters who create products and technologies for human requirements. Engineers evaluate economic and ecological facts, communicate with professionals in other technical disciplines, are customer-oriented and used to thinking in terms of business. They are aware of sales and marketing opportunities and work internationally..

"The breadth of mechanical engineering is unique," So we students of MITK organized the Mechanical Forum “INCEPTIVE” on 14th November 2019 which was inaugurated by Chief guest Mr.Sri Krishna Rao Kodancha, H.O.D Dr.Chandra Rao Madane, Principal Dr.Kataiya G S. It’s our pleasure that Mr. Rohit shetty was elected as president.
After the inauguration ceremony, oath taking ceremony was conducted where every student pledged to be a honest engineer towards his duty and the society.
Through our forum Inceptive, we are going to conduct academic and co-curricular activities like workshops on recent technologies, seminars, industrial tours, government training programs, blood donation camps, spell B, quiz competitions and much more. We are also interested to form cricket, badminton, volleyball and football club. We came up with special training classes to improve the technical abilities like CATIA, Hyper mesh, AUTOCAD and project designing classes.
We Moodlakatte Institute of Technology (MIT) KUNDAPURA, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Organized industrial visit to “LAMINA SPRINGS MANGALORE” and “TRIVENI ENGINEERING INDUSTRY MYSORE” on 7th and 8th November 2019. About 25 students with 4 faculty members visited to Industries, to learn about manufacturing process of Suspension springs and Gears. Industrial visits enhance the practical knowledge to the students to empower them with the recent developments in the core field and also to provide with a fair idea of the work environment at the Companies. Students were very happy and expressed their gratitude to College management & faculty members. We expresses our sincere thanks to Honorable chairman Mr.Siddarth .J. Shetty , The Principal Dr.Kataiah and The Director of Academics Dr. Chandra Rao Madane for their great support and encouragement. We also thank authority of “LAMINA SPRINGS MANGALORE” and “TRIVENI ENGINEERING INDUSTRY MYSORE” and Staff members for their great support & guidance.

About 42 students with 4 faculty members visited to Industries, to learn about Turbines and Power Plant working procedure. Industrial visits enhance the practical knowledge to the students to empower them with the recent developments in the core field and also to provide with a fair idea of the working environment in the power house. Students were very happy and expressed their gratitude to College management & faculty members. We expresses our sincere thanks to Honorable chairman Mr.Siddarth .J.
